Dear scouts,
Your TL is here wishing all of you guys good luck for your MidYear Examinations!
Study hard people!
By the way, for those of you who have SCVs at home,
Try tuning in to Discovery Channel every Monday at 10pm
The series 'Man VS Wild' by Bear Grylls is really helpful
in learning more about the wild and survival skills which
can also be very helpful in scouting (:
Just a pointer to share. hehe
Good luck studying and all the best once again!

The Owl Speaks...
Dear Scouts,
Here are a few things to recap what has been said earlier in today's meeting. And some announcements as well.
1. Result of External Assessor Visit...
... who is very pleased with the Troop. For the benefit of those who were unable to make it today, the external assessor (Mr. Lai Kwok Chin, District Commissioner for Toa Payoh) was impressed with the standard and quality of the boys.
The leaders were also pleasantly shocked to see our store and woodshed in a more credible state. Credit goes to the QM and everyone who has helped him. He did notice, however, that our 3-2-1 flagpole is slanting dangerously.
On the overall, he is still giving our Troop a very positive review. EVERYONE should be congratulated for a job well done!
This, however, is only the beginning. We're not a professional wayang (i.e. show) company that's only good for 1-hit wonders. You have shown us, the leaders, and yourselves and one another that YES YOU CAN do things right. So keep up the good work!
2. Exams & Revision
As mentioned, pleasepleaseplease make sure you study for your exams. If you think you can't study alone, you can always form a Patrol Study Team and meet up during meeting time as per usual next week but for mugging. It was done before and can be successful.
As usual, the Leaders wish everyone Good Luck for your exams! The leaders will need it too. Don't be surprised if we pop by on a Friday for revision too!
3. June Camp Notice
The camp will be officially held from 9th to 12 June. Please advise one another what you should bring for your camp, how to pack your stuff etc. Consent forms will be given out soon. Dear Sec 4 Senior Scouts, this camp applies for you guys as well!
This camp will be strictly very compulsory. Please advise your parents to set aside time for this. As a Scout, most of your learning comes from working with your Patrol members. Having insufficient patrol members is always the most lousy reason to disrupt your time together to train, bond and have fun as a group!
That's all!

Dear scouts,
Please read the following carefully.
Wednesday 15/4/2009
Attire: Wichita Black and PE pants - (Sec 1,2,3)
Venue: Outside Scouts den
Time: 3.00pm (Sec 1 2 3 4) better be in your attire by 3 pm.
Things to bring: Wichita Kit
Patrol IC: Rayfish (Zhao Meng)
IMPORTANT If you are unable to attend meeting due to whatever reasons,
You MUST call your respective patrol leaders and tell them the day before.
If you are absent without telling them, it will be deem astruancy of CCA,
in other words, a serious offence.
( Please encourage your friends who want to pon scouts to come.)
P.S IC in other words means "Acting TL"
Therefore please give him full cooperation no matter what.
Respect him and treat him like your TL.
Any Hanky Panky will be severely dealt with. (:
Dear scouts,
the following are points from previous posts that i would like to emphasize on.
Standardization-
Different we may be, we still need to standardize some things to let members feel a sense of equality to a certain extent and belonging. In alignment to our troop motto of one for all, all for one, we have implemented something that was a practice in the past but got lost somewhere along the way. This practice is the equipping of a Wichita Personal Kit which every member regardless of rank has to bring for every formal meeting. We hope that we can continue this standardization mentality in different aspects of our CCA.
Sense of Urgency-
We have observed that this has been a problem that has bugged our troop for quite some time. Most of the time, we only show our sense of urgency during camps, but what we are really gunning for is that urgency be present in every meeting. Not only members, honestly everybody is guilty of that. So, we need to inculcate that mentality into us that urgency is one of the main priorities. Hence, allowing us to complete stuff within the time frame allocated.
Willingness to learn-
Last but not least we would like to instill a love for the CCA into everyone. We want them not to come for CCA just to be in the motion. Our aim is to make them love coming to the CCA and not let it be a chore but a passion. We want to at least learn something every meeting they attend so they won’t go home empty handed or empty ‘minded’ so to speak.
In case you guys do not realise, the current sec 3s are now ur PL,
so please give them the respects they deserve.
The external assessor will be coming on friday so the PLs would
be expecting more improvements on your discipline.
Thank You.
