PLC MEETING

-Spread out PLC among members to allow sense of belonging that we are allowed an opportunity to impart our knowledge to them. Members also won’t feel neglected

-Meetings must be pre planned, cannot have last minute planning. This is to show members that we are prepared as the scout motto instructs us to be. Otherwise they will find excuses to be slipshod with their planning.

*This year, one of the aims is to put more emphasis on members due to the lack of attention on the members because of NPC and DPC.

-Whenever you teach the members anything do not jump to the advance, don’t have the mentality that they know everything, always start from the basics and you won’t go wrong

-This year is the beginning of a new era of Wichita scout troop. We will concentrate on upping the standard of the troop. We are adamant on not settling on mediocrity but achieving our full potential. This is the mentality that the PLC and leaders hope to impart to the next PLC.

-As the current PLC are steeping down not at the March camp, but at June camp instead, this will give the PLC more time to pass down as much knowledge to the next PLC before they step up to the plate and take over

Following three points are the themes that this year will revolve around

Standardization- Different we may be, we still need to standardize some things to let members feel a sense of equality to a certain extent and belonging. In alignment to our troop motto of one for all, all for one, we have implemented something that was a practice in the past but got lost somewhere along the way. This practice is the equipping of a Wichita Personal Kit which every member regardless of rank has to bring for every formal meeting. We hope that we can continue this standardization mentality in different aspects of our CCA.

Sense of Urgency- We have observed that this has been a problem that has bugged our troop for quite some time. Most of the time, we only show our sense of urgency during camps, but what we are really gunning for is that urgency be present in every meeting.
Not only members, honestly everybody is guilty of that. So, we need to inculcate that mentality into us that urgency is one of the main priorities. Hence, allowing us to complete stuff within the time frame allocated.

Willingness to learn- Last but not least we would like to instill a love for the CCA into everyone. We want them not to come for CCA just to be in the motion. Our aim is to make them love coming to the CCA and not let it be a chore but a passion. We want to at least learn something every meeting they attend so they won’t go home empty handed or empty ‘minded’ so to speak.
